My husband and I shared the two meat platter. Enjoyed the pulled pork and brisket great pit beans and thought the potato salad had a touch of extra seasoning to elevate above the ordinary. Just enough food for both of us. Enjoyed the experience.
The service is 10/10 with a very helpful, courteous staff. All 4 sauces- Hot...Sorta, God Bless Texas, I Carolina, and KC Sweet- are fire good! I had the brisket/pulled pork with cole slaw and baked beans. I’m giving 5 stars for the collective dining experience. It, specifically the brisket would only get a 3.5. It has a great smoke ring but it’s cold and lost some of its juicy nature. For what it’s worth, it’s the end of the day an hour before closing. The pulled pork is well seasoned with a proper amount of fat. The baked beans and cole slaw are money. The strawberry vanilla pudding is worth kicking your kids out of the way to get to!
Try the Texas Tacos! I'm very picky about my BBQ and especially sauces but when they told me these had a mustard BBQ sauce I was curious. 3 tacos-brisket, turkey, and I think pulled pork. Slaw and roasted corn with their I Carolina sauce (mustard type). I'm not sure what seasonings they use but my taste buds were dancing, sooooo delicious. Also, great customer service, short wait, cool ambiance, love the clever/fun names of the meals, and they serve it on a sheet pan with butcher paper listing your meal name. Good vibes and outdoor seats allow views of the smokers. The hubby and I will definitely be returning!
I enjoyed a two meet combo. Brisket and turkey were my choices. Both were deliciously smokey and juicy. I also tried 3 sides. The baked beans were amazing. I also had the potato salad and spicy green beans, which were very good as well. I margarita from the bar was a perfect complement. Go early so you don't miss out on any meat options. They sell out! I will be back often!
Stopped by on a road trip, visiting during off-peak weekend afternoon hours. Quiet (at the time), clean, nicely shaded outdoor patio as well as indoor dining. A few menu items had sold out but still offered a solid selection. The Southwest Smokehouse Salad hit the spot with a hearty serving of pulled pork (a good base for sampling each of the barbecue sauces) and lots of greens and veggies. The staff were friendly, great service.
I love some bbq.... Somewhat a bbq snob but I’m Not a negative Nancy. This place was really good! I enjoy the Texas style serving, I absolutely loved these fries. I’d like to know if they’re cooked in tallow because the flavor was awesome and the texted was too. The Mac and cheese was great as well. The meat had great flavor and I really enjoyed trying all the sauces they had. I really enjoyed their Texas sauce. I’ll be asking to buy some on my next visit. This will be a spot I hit when I’m in Jefferson City. Thanks for the great meal.
First time visiting this restaurant. The food is amazing. The jalapeno cheddar grits are freaking bomb, you gotta try them. The smoked turkey,pork and brisket were amazing. The pit beans were delicious.
